Shemer Ranch was founded in 1974 when Jack Shemer, also known as "Cactus Jack," began purchasing parcels to start a small family ranching operation with Black Angus cows. After Jack's passing, Jack's wife, Paula Shemer, continues the cattle operations. Paula continues growing it to what it is today under the herd management and leadership of Ranch Foreman Blake Kornele.
Located in Nye, Montana, Shemer Ranch focus on the essentialism and authenticity of world-class Black Angus beef. With an F1 program genetics and select full-blood bulls. The ranch also supports a yearling program from one of Arizona's prolific ranching families.

Shemer Ranch is partnered with the Tangled H Ranch in Montrose, Colorado. Tangled H Ranch is a breeding and working horse ranch working in conjunction of Performance H Horses based in Prescott, Arizona.
